Board of Directors

Below are the members of the board of directors for Midcoast Holdings, L.L.C. (MH), the general partner of Midcoast Energy Partners, L.P.

Dan A. Westbrook is chairman of the board and was elected a director of MH in October 2013, and is a member of the board's Audit, Finance & Risk Committees. From 2001 to 2005, Mr. Westbrook served as president of BP China Gas, Power & Upstream and as vice-chairman of the board of directors of Dapeng LNG, a Sino joint venture between BP subsidiary CNOOC Gas & Power Ltd. and other Chinese companies. He held executive positions with BP in Argentina, Houston, Russia, Chicago and The Netherlands before retiring from the company in January 2006. From August 2002 to June 2004, Mr. Westbrook served as director and chairman of the finance committee of the International School of Beijing. He also serves on the board of SandRidge Energy, as well as on the board of the Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation in Albuquerque, NM. He is a former director of Ivanhoe Mines, an international mining company, Synenco Energy Inc., a Calgary-based oil sands company and of Knowledge Systems Inc., a privately held U.S. company that provides software and consultant services to the oil and gas industry.

J. Herb England was elected a director of the board of MH in October 2013 and was elected as the chairman of the boards’ Audit, Finance and Risk Committees in October 2013. Mr. England has been chair and chief executive officer of Stahlman-England Irrigation Inc. (contracting company) in southwest Florida since 2000. Previously, Mr. England was the chief executive officer of Sweet Ripe Drinks Ltd. and held various executive positions with John Labatt Limited in the food, dairy and brewing industries. Mr. England has served on the Enbridge Inc. board of directors since 2007.

C. Gregory Harper was appointed to the MH Board of Directors effective January 2014. In January 2015, he was elected the president of MH, prior to which he was the principal executive officer, and is also the President, Gas Pipelines and Processing, at Enbridge, Inc. As the head of Enbridge’s natural gas business, Mr. Harper brings deep and proven operational, commercial, and developmental experience, thanks to an extensive background in the natural gas industry. Based in Houston, Mr. Harper joined Enbridge from Southwest Energy, where he served as Senior Vice President, Midstream, and also held senior leadership positions with CenterPoint Energy, Spectra Energy and Duke Energy. In 2013, he served as Chairman of the Board of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA). Mr. Harper serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board at the University of Houston’s Bauer School of Business, and is also Chairman of the board of directors of Theatre Under the Stars.

Mark A. Maki was elected senior vice president of MH in February 2014 and a director of MH in May 2013. Mr. Maki currently serves as president and principal executive office of EECI and EEQ, and previously served as vice president, Finance and principal financial officer for EECI and EEQ. Mr. Maki has held various other managerial and accounting positions with the company since 1986, when he joined Enbridge’s Lakehead Pipeline group. He is a member of the board of directors of the National Association of Publicly Traded Partnerships and formerly served on and chaired the Audit Subcommittee of the American Petroleum Institute.

John A. Crum was appointed a director of MH in February 2014, and is a member of the board's Audit, Finance and Risk Committees. Mr. Crum currently serves as president and chief executive officer of Midstates Petroleum Company Inc. He also serves on the board of directors of Coskata Inc., a private biofuel technology company. From 1995 to 2011, Mr. Crum served in several roles for various Apache Corporation divisions, including co-chief operating officer and president, North America from 2009 to 2011. Some previous positions held by Mr. Crum include vice president of Engineering and Operations of Aquila Energy Corporation from 1993 to 1995, and district and regional manager for Pacific Enterprises Oil Company from 1986 to 1993.

James G. Ivey was appointed a director of MH in February 2014, and is a member of the board's Audit, Finance and Risk Committees. Mr. Ivey currently co-heads Pintail Energy, an exploration and production company he co-founded in 2014. Mr. Ivey currently serves on the boards of directors of two privately held independent power producing companies: National Energy and Gas Transmission Inc. since 2004 and Mach Gen LLC since 2004. His prior experience includes serving Milagro Exploration from 2009 to 2012 in the role of executive vice president and chief financial officer from 2009 to 2010 and then president and chief executive officer from 2010 to 2012. From 2006 to 2008, Mr. Ivey was executive vice president and chief financial officer of Cobalt International Energy. From 2004 to 2006, Mr. Ivey served Markwest Hydrocarbon as senior vice president and chief financial officer. His previous background includes serving as the corporate treasurer for each of the Williams Companies from 1995 to 2004 and Arkla Gas from 1982 to 1995, as well as other financial and engineering positions with Conoco and Fluor from 1973 to 1981.

Edmund P. Segner III was appointed a director of MH in February 2014. Mr. Segner is currently a professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Rice University and serves on the boards of directors of three other companies and audit committees: Bill Barrett Corp., an oil and gas exploration and production company since August 2009; Exterran GP LLC, the general partner of Exterran Partners, L.P., a master limited partnership which provides contract operations since May 2009; and Laredo Petroleum Holdings, Inc. a Permian oil and gas exploration and development company since August 2011. Mr. Segner retired from EOG Resources Inc. in 2008. He had several offices at EOG during his tenure from 1997 to 2008 including president, chief of staff, and director and principal financial officer. Formerly, from 1988 to early 1998, Mr. Segner held several positions with Enron Corporation, including vice president, senior vice president and executive vice president. Previously, Mr. Segner also served on the boards of Seahawk Drilling from 2009 to 2011 and of Universal Compression Holdings from 2000 to 2002. He has also served as a member of the board or as a trustee for several nonprofit organizations.

R. Poe Reed was elected Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer of MH in September 2015 and was elected as a director of MH in November 2015. Previously, Mr. Reed was President and Chief Executive Officer of Caliber Midstream from June 2014 to September 2015. Prior to that Mr. Reed was with CenterPoint Energy from January 2011 through June 2014, most recently from December 2013 through June 2014 serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer for Enable Midstream, an MLP in which CenterPoint Energy holds a majority interest and from January 2011 to December 2013 serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer for Interstate Pipelines for CenterPoint Energy. Prior to joining CenterPoint/Enable, Mr Reed worked for 20 years at DCP Midstream and its predecessor companies including including Duke Energy Field Services Canada, PanEnergy and Texas Eastern. From July 2009 through January 2011, he served as DCP’s Vice President of natural gas and NGL marketing.
