Our North Texas system consists of approximately 3,900 miles of natural gas gathering and transportation pipelines, approximately 29 miles of NGL pipelines, and seven active natural gas processing plants located in the Fort Worth basin.
Our North Texas system is located in the Fort Worth basin and gathers production from the Barnett Shale play. The Fort Worth basin is a mature basin with stable production and relatively low drilling and completion costs. The Barnett Shale area of the Fort Worth basin became one of the more active natural gas plays in North America starting in the late 1990s. While abundant natural gas reserves have been known to exist in the Barnett Shale play since the early 1980s, technological advances in fracturing the shale formation have allowed commercial production of the natural gas reserves.
